When it comes to eating, three feelings drive you to eat: desire, urge, or compulsion. These are emotions we create with the thoughts we have in our brain, and there are multiple levels to them. But when you can bring attention and awareness to each of these vibrations in your body, you can regain your control over them.
When we tell ourselves we can’t have something, we temper our desire. We push it down and it starts to feel urgent. But anytime you feel desire, urge, or compulsion in your body, you can learn to become aware of it and allow it to dissipate, and doing so will lead it to lose its power over you.
